Bread
Combining my love of baking with my love oh photography brings joy. I bake a lot for family as well as my church. If there’s a church gathering, there’s a 99.9% chance that one of the baked goods will be from my kitchen. Though I enjoy baking cupcakes and other desserts, I’ve fallen in love with baking bread. Earlier this year I decided to start baking bread regularly. This was prompted by the cost for a loaf of bread in the market. Baking my own bread assures that I control what goes into it and since we don’t eat a ton of bread during the week, I don’t have to bake it that often. Healthier loaves and a healthier food budget are both wins in my book.

Last month I purchased Big Book of Bread from The King Arthur Baking Company. I’m reading through each of the recipes and plan to bake my way through the cookbook. Then I can share the results, good or bad, here on the blog. There are over 125 recipes so it’s going to be a long, but hopefully delicious, journey.
I’m a fan of King Arthur products and practically live on the website when I’m searching for recipes to try. The bread shown above was baked using the Classic Sandwich Bread recipe from their site.
As for the images above, I’m still over the moon with my mirrorless, full-frame Nikon z5 that J got me for my birthday last year! It’s my first (and most likely last haha) full frame camera. All the photo sessions and weddings I shot over the years were done using a crop sensor DSLR. I added the FTZ II Mount Adapter to my kit. This meant not having to purchase replacements for my 35mm and 50mm f/1.8s. I also added the 70-180mm f/2.8 lens to my kit. At half the cost of a Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8G, I’m very happy with the results.
Everyday I get to bake and or use my camera is a good, good day.
Peace,
Betty
