Destiny 2: Catching up

After blasting through the Borderlands 3 DLC Guns, Love and Tentacles we jumped back into Destiny 2. It was perfect timing because a new season started. Both J and I are working through content from the Moon and getting our characters power levels over 1000. It took a day to re-acclimate ourselves to the game after playing Borderlands 3. Both are shooters but they each have a unique feel. At least to us.

This was the game that made us realize that I can play FPS games. The problem wasn't me when I attempted to play Borderlands 2 on the xBox. The problem was that I couldn't use a controller to save my life. Recently the Switch has helped me with it but I'm more comfortable playing on PC. My console life is limited to Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Mario games.

We haven't played much of Destiny 2 since it moved to Steam from the Blizzard launcher. It's our only complaint right now. Since the game moved to Steam we deal with constant connection issues, lag spikes and sudden drops. Trust me, it's the game not our rigs. Zero issues when it was on the Bnet launcher. Constant headaches with it on Steam. At this point it's doubtful we'll buy the upcoming expansion Destiny 2: Beyond Light set to launch on September 22nd. Only time will tell especially since we're waiting for Blizzard to confirm a release date for the new World of Warcraft expansion, Shadowlands, which we pre-ordered last year.

In the meantime we're happily shooting our way across the Moon and hoping to jump into events from the new season in Destiny 2.

That brings grandma's gaming post to a close because the pool is calling my name along with a bottle of Barefoot
